It is actually very interesting to watch this unfold politically. On one hand, we have the left, playing the role of the children, demanding that their allowance continue to grow. On the other hand, you have the right playing the role of the adults, telling the children that not only will your allowance not be increased, but due to tough times, we are going to have to reduce your allowance. The children, refusing to listen, go overspend on the credit card and when the adult says that I am not going to pay this credit card for you until you agree to control your spending and live within the means that I am willing to provide you, the children retort that (1) you are going to ruin the good thing I have going with my credit card company, and (2) this is really your fault for not increasing my allowance.

The story speaks for itself. If the children wouldn't have thrown a hissy fit and listened to the adults, the credit card company wouldn't have gotten pissed. The children don't get to decide the allowance, the adults do.

Perhaps if the adults had paid more attention to what was going on in their OWN household and not two other households, the kids would take the adults more seriously. However, the kids have watched the adults be irresponsible for 8 years and now all of a sudden they get a lecture from those very same adults about......"responsibility".

While I can certainly understand your huge disappointment in GW Bush's decision-making skills during his 8 years as POTUS, BHO's has to share some of the blame as well. His decision to extend the Bush tax cuts was made for strictly his own political reasons and not in the interests of our long-term economic growth. S&P pointed that out.
In the final analysis, the right-wing extremists cannot see beyond their ideological myopia. Even after Obama fumbled the ball on the 10 yard line, the teapublicans picked up the ball and ran in the wrong direction when they rejected closing tax loopholes and special interest perks in excahnge for significant cuts in entitlement programs.
So, instead of facing the music a year ago, the politicians in Washington DC kick the can down the road once again, believing the stupidity of the voters, along with the billions of $$$ from the special interests and the continued enabling by the co-dependent limp wrist media, will be their saving grace.
