    It's Reagan's fault somehow.

Agreed. How bad does it have to get before left of center Americans finally realize "We screwed up. Get this fool out of the White House. He's hurting us all!!"

It would seem anyone could recognize that obama's policies are ineffective (very effective if you want a negative outcome). I'm beginning to wonder if people learn. As you alluded to, our hope is in the folks left of center, the hard left will never give up their ideology.

I'm beginning to wonder (I am not typically paranoid) if Obama intends to ruin the economy to easier convert us to a socialist country. I can see obama and his buddies wanting to know if the "vision" they had in college while sitting around the dorm room drinking and toking would work. We (the public) are the clowns in the center ring.

why would Obama go through so much trouble to convert us to a socialistic economy when another administration can simply undo what he did? you guys don't think, you just gobble up the teapublican talking points at will.

It wouldn't be so simple to just undo it. You assume things would continue the same way when they won't. Elections, terms, etc. will all change. One "party" could (more than likely) "rule" for decades.

I am amazed that some people still believe that our issues are caused by an elected group of officials standing up for less spending.

That is not a teapublican talking point. Those are facts. You can't dispute or try to explain them away.

The WH changed hands just as the economy was going off the cliff. Surely you know that?

The WHOLE WORLD knows that AWOL policies of deficit spending and lack of regulation of wall street is what caused the GREAT BUSH RECESSION. Obama had nothing to do with the current economic mess except having to deal with it the best he can.

The bottom line is to expect continued economic no-growth regardless of who is elected in 2012. The worst case situation is that the CONS take us into the GREAT DEPRESSION II.

This was the worst possible time to elect a guy like Obama. We needed a Reagan conservative for a turnaround. We got the opposite of Reagan which resulted in a movement even further downward. There should be a law that states Democrats can only run for president in prosperous times.

Salty, I agree that Bush did alot of spending. Many of us on this board voiced our concerns about this. However even you must admit that Obama and his deficit spending doesn't even compare to that of Bush. Obama has not led the country during this crisis. Too many in Congress are trying to upstage the President and obtain more "power", Pelosi, Reid, Bohner. Look at how many people are wanting to be on the "Super Committee" to discuss where next round of cuts are going to be made.

Do you stand by the statement that President Obama's policies are completely unrelated to the economic downturn? From my perspective, even if you blame President Bush, then President Obama gets at least some blame for extending those policies...
