I was simply pointing out like DFM said, a minimal investment in MBB would pay off in big dividends. There is a lot of basketball talent in Louisiana. If we upgraded the TAC a little more(scoreboard video screen pepsi? anyone?), put some "minimal" money into Memorial Gym, invested in a long term coach who has a program and recruits towards his program...we could easily be the Men's Basketball school in Louisiana. (including yearly tournament appearances) LSU sure isn't trying very hard.

Don't we still have 2 BB courts on campus? Or is one being used for quilting classes?
Was the "old men's gym" still there when you were at Tech? Played a lot of basketball there on sat. nights. It was on the west end of Robinson.

250 million was what T. Boone Pickens donated to OSU and it's paying off this year. They had one of the worst looking football stadiums you have ever seen when we played there in 2001. Saw some of their new football facilities on a ESPN special Tuesday night and they have spent their money well.

I totally agree and MBB is not where you get the most profit but you can get some nice profit and it is certainly where you get the most bang for your buck. I feel like we could become a consistent tournament presence and easily become the #1 MBB school in the state with a little hard work and some investment. I can envision us having Utah St. type of results without "that much" money being poured into the program. (that much obviously being a relative term) There is a lot a of publicity to be gained from dancing consistently and these things tend to snowball. Don't get me wrong I want to go as far as we can in FB. I want BCS bowls. But MBB is very attainable and as far as Louisiana goes it is just sitting there waiting to happen. #1 is there for the taking. We would be able to recruit Louisiana which I agree has a ton of talent, and also D/FW where SMU/TCU have not exactly been setting the world on fire either. It's there folks we just gotta grab it.

A list of donors that no one can call except him and/or someone he tells can call them.

Oh yeah...my problem was that I played there on Sunday night...Monday night...Tuesday night...Wednesday night...Thursday night...from about 10PM until 2AM, which resulted in more missed, than attended, classes!
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?

The old men's gym was great. A lot of great times at all hours. I remember a couple of the dead spots on the floor.

Arkansas probably offered him to walk-on and he thought that it was a scholarship offer. Boy, I bet he is going to be really surprised when he arrives in Fayetteville.

Those same dead spots were there in 1970. They were probably approaching the category of black hole by the mid 70s. A lot of great late night games there. I think my lungs are paying for all the dust and fungus that was in the air there.
