Tech wins 24-14 in front of a nice Tech crowd. I know me and about 20 other guys are making the trip.

Isham starts slowly but finds comfort zone in time to throw for 100 first-half yards. He explodes for 200 more in the second half. Defense shows marked improvement but will lack consistency and will, as usual, be outcoached in the second half. Despite this, defensive athleticism will be sufficient to limit the damage to 20 (2 td's, 2 fg's). Meanwhile, "in the groove" offense frustrates and grinds-down S. Miss. defense and torches them for 31. 31-20 final -- Tech.

I would take both of those predictions and run with them.

I think our defense is going to be almost as bad as last year at giving up the big play but I also think this year they are also going to create a lot more big plays of their own and turnovers at the same time. I think we are going to force a lot of INT's/Fumbles/Sacks Etc.......

First game, I don't think we will be putting up a lot of points. Tech 21-17 Southern Miss.

I think the two teams are pretty even on paper. USM has a couple of things working in their favor though: 1. Their QB has started about 30 games. 2. They're at home. We will need to play well to have a chance to win. I do expect a close game that could go either way, but if you held a gun to my head and forced me to pick a score: USM 31 Tech 24. But if our run defense is as good as Nytetyme says, we just may win this one. If we do win it, it's going to be a special season, I believe.

35-24 Tech. Creer goes ape-shit and runs for 170 yards and 3 scores. Isham doesn't start but after Colby floats two interceptions in the first quarter he comes in and plays a consistent, well-rounded game in his first collegiate action.

So. Miss 35 - 28 Tech

So. Miss starts scores quick and puts up 21 early but Tech gets in the groove and Creer scores 2 before halftime. Back and forth in the second half but home field advantage wins out for So. Miss. Tech has decent outing with Isham coming in the second quarter.
