Youngest QB to start an NCAA game?

Does anyone know who is the youngest QB to ever start a college football D1 (FBS) game?

Colt McCoy must have been close to Nick Isham. Colt was born September 5, 1986 and started for Texas in 2006. So he was just barely 18 or a few days younger than 18.

If I read the article in The Times correctly Isham will be 17! He turns 18 October 7th!

Re: Youngest QB to start an NCAA game?

Somebody posted the other day that he will be the second youngest to ever start. He missed out by 31 days I believe it was.

Edit: It was '05. 1 month and one day older than David Walker. (see thread below)

Brett Favre took over at Southern Miss as the starter at halftime on September 19, 1987 against Tulane, his 18th birthday being October 10th. Very similar timeline to Isham.

I never said he would be the 2nd youngest starting QB in FBS history. I did say he would miss Walker's record by about a month.

Okay, but you actually said a month and a day so that could be anywhere from 29 to 32 days:icon_wink:

Who falls in that 32 day range for being younger than Isham, but older than Walker?
