Colt McCoy must have been close to Nick Isham. Colt was born September 5, 1986 and started for Texas in 2006. So he was just barely 18 or a few days younger than 18.
Somebody posted the other day that he will be the second youngest to ever start. He missed out by 31 days I believe it was.

It's not FBS, but I saw where GSU will start a true frosh at QB this weekend.
That is Doug Williams son starting for Grambling. (Or so I was told)
Brett Favre took over at Southern Miss as the starter at halftime on September 19, 1987 against Tulane, his 18th birthday being October 10th. Very similar timeline to Isham.
