Outstanding video!!
I never get tired of watching his highlights. If he hadn't held on to the ball so long and ran with it sometimes, he could probably played another 3-4 years. You don't see QBs in the NFL do that anymore.
Those were the prettiest, tightest spirals I have ever seen.
I'm glad he is getting older. I was afraid I was going to catch him.
It is a shame some of our younger guys can never truly appreciate him. He was a once in a generation type of athlete. He entered the league over 40 years ago now and the average size of NFL QBs has just recently caught up to him.
Not only was he huge for his time, he was one of the strongest and fastest guys on the field every time he walked out there. On top of that he had a very quick release, one of the strongest arms in the history of the game AND he called every one of the offensive plays in every game he played thoughout his career.
Bradshaw was the prototype for the modern NFL quarterback. He changed the game and 40 years later he is still the mold that the NFL looks to fill.
It is simply amazing that our little ole alma mater has 3 Hall of Famers in Football and Basketball. What is even more amazing is that all three changed the way that the experts look at their individual positions. Malone revolutionized the Power Forward position for Basketball and Dean created a whole new category of Defensive Lineman, the speed rushing defensive end.
We don't just have Hall of Famers. All of them were truly unique and each forever changed their positions.
It makes me proud all over again when I see these old videos.
Happy Birthday Terry!
Yep, he had the complete package... including the intellectual ability. He would fit in any system that is now played.
Not surprisingly, he probably would still fit best in Pittsburgh. Big, strong, mobile quarterback that can take punishment and stretch the field vertically. Sound familiar?
Tebow needs to take some lessons from Terry on how to throw. Tebow practically pulls the ball out of his hip pocket with that wind up he uses so often. And not so accurate. Terry is quick and incredibly precise. Terry could throw 2 passes to Tebow's one and complete lots more.
I had actually forgotten how similar Marino's release was to Terry's. I think Marino is generally considered to have the quickest release ever of the HOF quarterbacks, but Terry's looked pretty similar.
Terry's probably had something to do with his background in the Javelin, for which he held the National High School record for almost 20 years.
