He threw the one bad pick but really I'm surprised that is the limit of it. NI is a leader. I'll go to war with him any day of the week.

Anybody else notice on the Creer fumble the only guy chasing the returner was Isham. He chased him to the endzone. He does not quit and is a leader with nerves of steel.

Yeah, I noticed. He ran a full sprint for 80 yards even though he had little chance of catching the guy. NEVER gave up.

I think we know what it's like to have to score last to win around here. I am high on this kid and the thought of having him at this point in his progression excites me. I know he will have bad games and bonehead plays but he showed me something tonight and we can build on that. Discount the stats but don't take away that last possession in regulation because he won this game for us tonight!!

If he did catch up, I'm more than confident he would be able to tackle the dude, not just knock him down.

If he had 10 more yard he would have caught him, NI was faster!

    Re: Isham!!

I am encouraged by our QB play. We didn't lose last week because of him, or be in the position to lose tonight because of him. That is pretty impressive for a 17 yr old. We have had seniors that didn't play as well as he did tonight. His future is very bright- and it is going to need to be. We will need to score 80 points a night to compete if our defense doesn't step it up.

Isham also ran down and tackled the defensive player who intercepted Isham's throw early in the game.

We have the ability in the secondary but not the correct defensive scheme (coaching).

Yep! Everyone else but him quit. Let him QB and coach, he's a leader.

OMG! saw that one coming. The DB baited him. Had safety coverage over the top, was gonna jump the route no matter what. I saw it and screamed "No!" but Isham couldn't hear me...

It's okay. He'll learn. In fact, I bet he already has learned. Isham appears to have a very good head on his shoulders. Has a QB's mind. I like this kid! I am VERY pleased with his performance.

I am trying to temper my enthusiasm for him. But, can't help but think, Wow! we got us a good one.

This. There's no way we've signed that many decently rated/recruited players who just flat out can't play. I said it last night, and I'll say it again. Our blitzing is vanilla at best. We have no imagination. The ONE time we pulled out something more than "hey look, there's 5 of us on the line and they're all coming for you", we got a pretty sack on a stunt by IK and J White. We've either got to come up with some blitzes that work, or stop blitzing all together - especially with Williams done for the season. (I'll say it again, who the HELL puts your most critical defensive player in to play special teams against a 1AA opponent?)
