Sucked today
Not prepared.
Cowboys worse
You play like you practice. I've been around sports all my life, w/o knowing I will venture a guess and say the Saints had a horrible week of practice. Yeah, this was the classic trap game. Worse, the victims of it (the Saints in this case) don't even recognize the symptoms. No intensity. None. Zilch. Nada.
Had coaches in both Jr High and High School that made us hit, full speed on Tuesday, had intra-squad scrimmage on Wednesday, and some kind of competitive game on Thursday, and that was every week, even deep into the playoffs. Why? So as not to lose any intensity. Often the games were the easiest part of our weekly routine.
The Rams played at 95mph, the Saints at 60mph and that is the result you get.
The Saints should have gotten beat 50-0, cept for the fact the Rams suck so bad. Bunch of millionaires playing a kids' game. All smiles afterwards as they board their charter jet and go home to their mansions.
If they keep leaving Brees out there to run up the score or to pad his stats in a meaningless situation, they are going to get bitten in the ass. I fully expect him to go down with an injury when he shouldn't even be in the game.
This is a pattern with the Saints that has not cost them yet, but start watching how often this happens.
Last week he is playing with a 5 touchdown lead against the most hapless team in the NFL. This week he is still in the game, apparently in order to keep his td passing streak alive, down by 17 with 6 seconds left in the game.
They did the same thing last year several times. I think that Payton and TF have a lot in common... sometimes they lack common sense.
The Saints were awful yesterday, but the Rams were on a mission. They were a totaly different team. I think having the Cardinla in the House with the World Series trophy may have had something to do with it.
Good old Memorial Gym
Road Rash
We seem to have it, especially Brees. Two very underwhelming road games against the mediocre Bucs and hapless Rams. We are still a playoff caliber team, but we will never win without homefield advantage.
Just fair but the cowgirls sure helped me sleep better. :icon_wink:
Saints’ offensive line in disarray on the field and on the sideline

I'm glad Brees was not seriously injured in that game. The Rams D line looked like the Fearsome Foursome yesterday.

I was completely surprised that Payton didn't hobble down to the locker room at halftime. I understand he is hurt, but it seems to me like he could have made it down to prove a point about overcoming and light a fire under the team. Clearly lacked passion yesterday.
...and like I said on the Boys thread, I expected the Boys to lose at least. Granted it was a lot uglier than I thought it would be, but at least they didnt lose a game that you look on your schedule and think you should have won. Going to Philly and winning isnt going to be easy and that Reed guy is pretty good after a Bye. Losing to the Rams anywhere with AJ Feeley as their QB is inexcusable.
