You might be right about the Big East but they would and apparently have joined the Big12 and as long as the conference has most of it's members in the Midwest/Southwest I don't think they would care one iota about flying to Cincinatti or WV once in a while. They have plenty of money.
I'm really getting nervous......what needs to happen for us to go to a better conference (i.e. CUSA, MWC or CUSA/MWC merger)?? Does that determination now solely rest on the shoulders of the Big East and who they add to that conference? Or are there other conferences who can still shake things up at this point? Big XII?

Curious how in that scenario you realistically have Tech in the CUSA/MWC merger.
Also I want to make sure that most of you who might not have been following this too closely realize that the CUSA/MWC "merger" isn't really a merger in the traditional sense of the word. Most scenarios have both conferences operating just like they do now and remaining totally independent of each other except when it comes to football. They have also suggested pooling resources for more negotiating power with the TV contracts as well.
As far as footbal goes most that I have seen show them operating the same as usual except they pit their two champions against each other with the winner going to a BCS bowl. I have more recently seen people speculate as to some football scheduling alliance as well and a football corporation being formed but that hasn't been as widely discussed.

The MWC is not going to get automatic full BC$ status since it will not finish in the top 6 in average computer ranking in the 2008-2011 period. It likely will meet the criteria to petition the Presidential Oversight Committee for an automatic bid, but the only legitimate chance of being granted the bid would require TCU to stay MWC.

The MWC-CUSA merger.
They'll still have a connection to the other TX schools for fball, and wont have to travel to the east coast for their other sports.
Only a couple of those scenarios have it as an actual merger. Most scenarios/speculation just involve football only where the two conference champions play each other and the winner gets a BCS bowl bid, and then they will share TV revenue with each other. Some say just for the championship game and others for the entire TV contract.
