That's sickening. I hope they find the scumbags that were involved. Please post an update if you see/hear any updates.
Wtf.......crazy people out there.
The GW must have come across a drug type deal......this type of thing makes sick.
I have had 4 encounters with GWs and each time they were true professionals......even though I had to watch one guy inspect every one of my shotgun shells.
These guys have one of the most dangerous jobs in America. (usually patrol alone and deal with people who 99% of the time are carrying a firearm) Absolutely ridiculous that someone would take this man's life and leave his wife as a widow and his children fatherless all because they choose to do something they're not supposed to be doing and he "catches" them. I hope the authorities catch them quickly and that justice is served. Prayers to the wife, children, and rest of his family. Very sad story.
Turns out he was retrieving his gun from the vehicle when it discharged. We can't ever be too careful. They are always loaded!
this is a very sad news and it really maked me think twice about getting my own gun. sometimes it really takes much alertness and cautiousness when we have armors like that at hand. i do pray for his soul and i hope that he is in a better place right now. i send out my condolences to the family. lets just take this as a reminder that we should always be careful of our actions becasue you might never know when you might get into an accident like that.
My uncle's step son is a GW and was telling a story of once when he jumped some poachers one night. He was alone and became the hunted. He was telling how close on guy came to him. Help finally arrived, but they weren't able to catch anyone. Basically just enough to get him out of the situation.
Those guys don't get much respect, or much pay. To be all alone and in the woods to catch criminals is insane to me. When they stop me on the water I always try to thank them. They are always working the days we enjoy having off.
