You are correct. Again, when Tech was lining up for the 2nd half kickoff, some of us folks in the stands are just going bonkers because we know we're supposed to be receiving, no kicking off.Originally Posted by johnnyb019

Actually, he's not right. We chose to kick off both halves.
Were the refs bad, yes. But it shouldn't matter if the refs were bad at all. If a team is good, it will rise past it. We seem to loose accountability here. We are pointing the fingers at everyone it seems like and alot of the people dont really deserve the criticism. Dykes is doing the best he can with players that are still left over from Dooly's day. We as fans seem to put a hugely unfair emphasis on instant success. Guys, it takes a couple years for all the hard work to pay off. I am as aggravating by this year as anyone else is. It isnt the a.d.'s fault, the coaches arent slacking off, the players arent slaking off, it is going to get there, just in time
And Dooley had Jack's and blah blah blah. Good coaches coach what they got. The well ain't dry of talent on this team. You want to talk accountability? Starts with Dykes.
Then we got what we deserved. If we didn't INSIST on a different officiating crew after the way we were treated at USM, then I have NO sympathy for our coaches.

wac officals are bad and that lack of control over the game last night was terrible. but it had NOTHING to do with the outcome of the game.
I disagree. The refs completely changed the game. They took away Patton's game tying TD with a phantom holding call. All of the pass interferences and holdings that weren't called against Hawai'i. One pass interference no call resulted in an INT. How about the horse collar and facemask no calls? Would we have still lost with a good officiating crew? Maybe, but who knows? The refs completely changed the game.
Does that make you feel better to say something that stupid? I don't know how you can say that with any authority. Do you have a crystal ball?
When an officiating crew misses at least 10 holding penalties (no calls) on Hawaii's offense, and blows as many calls as that crew did last night, it definitely has an affect on the outcome of the game. Would we have won? We'll never know. But we'd have damn sure had a better chance if they had called the game correctly.

When a Tech fan says something like, we would have won if....[fill in the blank]...someone will come back and say, you don't know that cuz if that call went our way, or whatever it was, the whole game changes from that point, including what the opponent might have done differently later. That is true.
But, it's okay to assume NO MATTER WHAT, Tech would still lose, even if changes are made to bad things that happened to us. Why is that? Hmmmm???
Looks like a double standard to me.

If we somehow get these officials again - home or away - SD better use the entire first quarter to target those assholes.

Loved it when Isham ran over one of the lines judges when he was running out of bounds and everyone cheered.
