Watching the Saints game. These roughing the QB calls are getting absurd. NFL has become a flag football league.
It's really a joke. 1st one called against the Saints Newton still had the ball. Turned the whole game around.

Yep. That call was ridiculous.
That first call was bogus!! That said the Said are stinking it up and playing down to their competition today. Totally uninspired.
That and the whole letting NFL kickers kick 5 yards in front of where NCAA does. Talk about taking away part of the game. I didn't even watch the kick offs today, boring.
Protecting the QB is protecting the largest investment.
The players agreed to the kicking change w/ more games in the future being a consideration.
Put skirts on 'em! - HoF Steeler LB (Lambert or Ham) said that.
...the feminization of America continues.
Apparently there were several roughing the passer penalties called against the Saints today. I was flipping back and forth between NO and Houston, so I missed all but one of them. The only one I saw--and which was a BS call--was the hit on Newton when the ball was still in his hand. He was throwing just as the LB hit him. No hit to the head, no low hit, and definitely not a late hit. Terrible call.
There were two roughing the passer calls, the one when Newton was throwing, total BS, and the 2nd on a 3rd and goal, which was helmet to helmet, and allowed the Panthers, after three more tries, to score a TD.
Yeah, if they hit his helmet, then ya gotta expect the flag.
Not so!
The US is very....er, has been....masculine. I don't remember what the scale is called, but I'll post something about it tomorrow.
In the meantime, instead of awarding the Lombardi Trophy to one winning team, guess they should just give away participation trophies to all 32 teams. Don't want to hurt any feelings.
