3. CUSA will add FIU and UNT and stop at 10 for now hoping some "bigger game" will become available later when the Big 12 and SEC finally
complete their expansion. If better opportunities do not materialize at a later date, CUSA could turn to Tech, or "best available" at that time as part of an expansion to 12.
Assuming the loss of Boise and AFA (which is not a foregone conclusion currently, but is still probable), and that UTEP does move to the MWC (which is quietly desired by CUSA) CUSA is unlikely to immediately return to 12 teams in the short-term because to do so would probably require the addition of three 'belt schools as well as Tech. It is far more likely that CUSA will simply regain a Florida presence by adding FIU and stopping.
Tech's near-term chance of a CUSA invitation is becoming distressingly small and Reneau's inactivity further reduces even that small chance.
