Even tho he only played like 9 or 10 games in his career at Tech, he's on my All-star, All-Time Tech Football Team.

A mega-talent with off-field issues that ruined his promising career. Of course, if it weren't for the off-field crap he wouldn't have played at Tech, he would have finished his career at Florida State and in the NFL.

As mentioned on another thread about Eric, Karen Akin, wife of former Tech V.PEricfam.jpgEric and Karen.jpg for External Affairs Hudson Akin, played a big role in helping Eric when he was a student/athlete at Tech. When Eric surfaced on our board I was able to reconnect him with Hudson and Karen. And this weekend the Akins (who are now in Muncie, IN, where Hudson works for Ball State) were traveling through Lexington and met with Eric and his family. Here are a couple of pictures:

One of GREATEST posts ever!!! Christmas time deserves a heart warmer like this. I have posted many times that Eric was my sons favorite player of all time ( he died in 1993) so this thread means a lot to me ....
