LSU vs Alabama

Just watching the replay on ESPNU.

This is a really ugly football game offensively. In fact, I don't think it's such a defensive classic as much as it is simply an exhibition of two poor offensive teams.

I'm seeing a lot of turnovers (4 so far), overthrown passes, and ugly play calls. If Tony Franklin had called some of these plays, many of you guys would be calling for his head. Even some of the run plays are very slow to develop. And Bama's punt returner (Maze) just let an easy punt hit the ground and continue rolling for another 30 yards, thereby putting the Tide even deeper in a hole.

Good defenses or poor offenses? You be the judge. But speaking for myself, I think all the pregame buildup and the 2-week layoff hurt BOTH teams. OVER-RATED!!!

Defense wins. It was obvious that defense would dominate this game before it was played.

One of the worst plays I saw in the game was when the LSU player took the ball away from the Alabama player when he caught the ball at the goal line. That was more like junior high. Any receiver worth a flip knows he's got to protect the ball after he catches it. Very poor QB play on both sides and Alabama didn't have any good receivers.

Not to mention that the receiver was FRIGIN laying down when LSU took the ball away. That was a bad call that cost Alabama the game.

LSU's kicker is better than Alabama's kickers.

.....and that was made worse by the fact that it was a small safety wrestling the ball away from Alabama's 6-6 269 lb.tight end.
