I'm on the road traveling back from AL right now but I just heard a story about Dooley pulling a redshirt kicker from his bed on Sat morning to kick in the game. Can someone confirm this and post the full story? If this is true maybe Saban will be raiding frat houses this weekend.
Alabama just lost a NC because of their kicking game. Someone should get fired.
I still fail to understand how you can put together a NC caliber team and not recruit an excellent kicker. That was a pitiful display Saturday and I was just in shock over 9 points left on the field that would have finished lsu off.
Ha, the Saban comment was a joke. Does anyone know the story about the TN kicker?
I thought Dooley once said while he was at Tech he never offered scholarships to kickers, or was I dreaming this...
If memory serves me correct I believe the Bama kicker was a top 10 in the nation kicker coming out of HS in texas.

Nelson was Dooley's first commit of that particular class. I'm 99% sure he had a scholarship.
Has anybody ever won a superbowl without scoring a TD? I don't think so. If you can't score a TD you don't deserve to be a national champion.
