Bears Win!! So this weekend saw the BCS #2, #4 and #5 lose.
HD
Holy cow. 4 Top 10 teams lose this weekend. Anybody want to venture a guess for the new Top 10 after this weekend??
Awesome game. Poetic justice that several of the schools that were going to be left behind for the PAC 10 got to kick the big boys in the ass:
Baylor over Oklahoma
ISU over Ok State
Kansas State over Texas
Too bad Boise got beat...
How about them Bears? What a great day, first the Dawgs comeback to beat Nevada and then the Bears finally knock of OU.
Man, 0-20 before this? Wow. The only thing close to that for Tech is 0-11 against Auburn, though LSU (1-18) and USM (13-31) have pretty lopsided stats as well.
The 0-20 was brutal; a lot of those losses were mismatches. The first few of those games were against the Switzer Sooners--who few teams ever beat. And then the Big 12 started just as Baylor tanked completely. Had a couple of close calls around 2005, but never enough.
Now Penn State/Indiana and FSU/Duke are the only BCS conference matchups where a team has never won (assuming at least 10 games) -- that was the Aflac trivia tonight.
The next 5 years would be the best time for that to change. Fisher isn't exactly restoring FSU, though they are slightly better than mediocre. Duke is improving, but won't be able dominate, just pull an upset like we've seen today when FSU ain't lookin'.
With Paterno out, I don't see PSU doing much of anything with the stuff going on there now. They'll be come cellar-dwellers pretty quick. Only if that happens will Indiana have a shot because they can't play.
