In this day and time I would strongly suggest you find out what it means first. You might google the term or ask.

I am not sure, but I think you can write "Louisiana Tech" in the text on something as long as it is not in official registered font. Of course with official logos you have to have permission. We have "Louisiana Tech Tailgating Team" written on our t-shirts and didn't have a problem getting them made. There are tons of fraternity and sorority shirts and such with the school name written on them but do not have an official logo.
