What if we don't get TCU or Boise in this game?

I'll try my best to make it regardless, but if it is against San Diego State, we get to play against a one sided crowd. If we play Wyoming in San Diego, talk about a strange crowd.

I'm happy for the players regardless. They've earned a shot at post season play. I'll try to make whatever game I can. I wish it was closer for my family, but we'll see what we can do. I just don't want to play San Diego State for fan reasons, Wyoming for tv interest reasons, and Boise for several reasons. This game would be great if it was against TCU. Big name. AQ team next year. National Ranking. - Good on all accounts.

This bowl game is a tourist attraction for the city of San Diego and a holiday tv filler for ESPN.

If some football players enjoy themselves, that's nice too.

Unfortunately (as I was talking about), he has us playing San Diego State...(30K SDSU fans versus 3500 Tech fans...yikes. Good thing we've become road warriors.)

Getting blown out by Boise (for the thousandth time) or TCU won't help our program.

I hope we play Wyoming, win by 20, and finish 9-4. Recruiting would be helped immensely.

If any of you SERIOUSLY think we will BEAT Boise in a bowl game.. giving Petersen all that time to plan for us..with the mismatches they create..you need to set the Kool Aid down.

I'm not saying we don't have a chance.. it's just a slim one.

We make fun of ULL and ULM for saying they could beat us and that's a lot lot lot closer gap than we have with teams that have played in BCS bowls in the past few years.

We are in uncertain times with all the conference realignment. Playing vs a high profile opponent like top 10 team likeTCU/Boise would do more for us than beating a team like wyoming that nobody cares about. A win over Boise State and TCU and we kick the doors of CUSA down. Im the biggest realist out there and I think there is no better way to judge our program than a game like this.

That actually makes better sense. SD State in a SD bowl to help attendance and TCU in Shreveport.

You think that Vegas wants TCU over Boise? I was thinking the other way around. Vegas can take a team geographically closer that also has a strong following and a high national ranking. I agree that the Poinsettia doesn't really want Tech, so I am unsure of why they came out with the news of an invite so quickly.

CUSA took 4 losing programs (I guess UTEP was coming off a good year for them).

And the WAC responded by taking three bottom tier SB teams.

I've saved 4 vacation days this year on faith for just such an occasion. I know of 6-7 Tech friends and family who are in for the trip.

Those who don't believe we should be playing in San Diego for a bowl game are entitled to your opinions. BUT I am all in for a big opponent in a cool city!
