[QUOTE=RougeDawg;1163325]We had TWO first downs against Nevada in an entire half. Boise embarrassed the SEC East champ.
Houston was rolled by us for 3 quarters, now they are in the BCS.......what is your point?

What if we don't get TCU or Boise in this game?
I'll try my best to make it regardless, but if it is against San Diego State, we get to play against a one sided crowd. If we play Wyoming in San Diego, talk about a strange crowd.
I'm happy for the players regardless. They've earned a shot at post season play. I'll try to make whatever game I can. I wish it was closer for my family, but we'll see what we can do. I just don't want to play San Diego State for fan reasons, Wyoming for tv interest reasons, and Boise for several reasons. This game would be great if it was against TCU. Big name. AQ team next year. National Ranking. - Good on all accounts.
This thread should be about 4 pages. Wow it took a while to see if anyone talked about something important.
Another prediction about the Poinsettia Bowl...

Unfortunately (as I was talking about), he has us playing San Diego State...(30K SDSU fans versus 3500 Tech fans...yikes. Good thing we've become road warriors.)
We are in uncertain times with all the conference realignment. Playing vs a high profile opponent like top 10 team likeTCU/Boise would do more for us than beating a team like wyoming that nobody cares about. A win over Boise State and TCU and we kick the doors of CUSA down. Im the biggest realist out there and I think there is no better way to judge our program than a game like this.
I don't think the Poinsettia Bowl really wants us. They probably still want Nevada. However, they probably know that the Las Vegas Bowl wants to invite TCU. That would leave Boise State for the Poinsettia Bowl. Nevada and Boise State have already played this year, and they don't want a rematch. That's most likely why they announced that they will invite us.
You think that Vegas wants TCU over Boise? I was thinking the other way around. Vegas can take a team geographically closer that also has a strong following and a high national ranking. I agree that the Poinsettia doesn't really want Tech, so I am unsure of why they came out with the news of an invite so quickly.
Valid points. I just think its a little different this time around.
