Crud! where were these crooks when UH was in Ruston?
Hawaii games on the island are always important games...folks trying to catch up for the day.
Anyone remember what the point spread was on the Hawaii-Tech game? Makes you wonder if the refs are in on this mess to with all those head scratcher calls on Tech.
Hawaii was favored by 4.5 points.
Below are the betting lines for Hawaii this season. Since the letter was received on November 3rd, pay attention to the games on October 14th, 22nd, and 29th.

Interesting point in this Honolulu Star-Advertiser article is that Hawai'i was 5-3 when the anonymous letter with the allegation was received. Hawai'i is 0-3 since with two home losses.

That's very true. If there's ever been an officiating crew that I honestly suspected of being "on the take", it was that bunch. Those refs ruined what could have been a fine football game. Specifically, the 22-minute delay to review a play (after giving Hawaii a 5th down) was the most absurd thing I've ever seen.

Not to excuse the replay official in the Hawai'i game for the ridiculous 22-minute delay, but after all that the correct call was made...Hawai'i did not get a 5th down since a timeout was called before the alleged first 3rd down play. With a decisive referee telling the replay booth exactly what happened, it should have taken 30 seconds to settle the issue and get on with the game.
Just like you, I don't want to rehash old news either.
But it should be pointed out that the 3rd down play you reference had already been run & finished by UH --and had failed-- before anybody said anything about a UH timeout. Nobody heard a whistle, and the play was run to its completion before anybody mentioned an alleged timeout. It was only after the 3rd down play was completed and the ball reset for the 4th down play that the refs suddenly changed their minds and stated that UH had allegedly called timeout before the 3rd down snap. Funny thing though, no time was actually ever taken by Hawaii (e.g., water break on the field, etc...) for the alleged timeout. UH simply got a "do over" of the 3rd down that had failed. What a crock!
It was a very, very poorly officiated game.

That crew is still generating havoc...they worked the double OT game in Logan last Saturday and had two reviews in the last Idaho possession of the 2nd OT. The replay official batted .500 on those two calls but Utah State won anyway as should have happened if both reviews had been ruled correctly.
One point I think can be universally agreed upon...that is the one WAC crew we do not need to see in Ruston Saturday afternoon.
It has been suspected for awhile that Moniz had been fixing games. I remember reading about it awhile back on some of the gambling forums I read.
