I found this job posting on Louisiana Tech's website earlier today. I thought it might be interesting to some people on the BBB board.

"The Division of University Advancement at Louisiana Tech University is accepting applications for the position of Coordinator of Athletic Advancement. Reporting to the Director of Athletic Advancement, this position will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors who will provide private financial support for the University’s athletic programs and for assisting the Director of Athletic Advancement with other programs, activities and communications."

"Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree; experience in fundraising, marketing, sales or related areas; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and an understanding of fundraising challenges in higher education."

I don't get it either.

If I were one of the remaining WAC presidents, I would tell him to clean out his office immediately and turn in his keys when he's done.

The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that Benson is leaving because the WAC presidents didn't give him a contract extension. They reported that last year Benson wanted a 4-year extension to take him into retirement, but the presidents refused to agree to it. His contract reportedly runs out this summer, and his contact would not have been renewed.
