This doesn't surprise me at all. This is the type of school that we need to be concerned about poaching Dykes from LA Tech.

Dykes doesn't strike me as the type to jump to a school in the same conference. Dooley maybe, but Dykes no.

I forgot FSU was moving xD maybe it is because the new MWC ain't gonna be a whole lot different from the current WAC..... either way I don't see Dykes jumping ship as of now since I think we have way more upswing than FSU

I've been really impressed with Coach Dykes. The guy is a class act. Since he has been here I've not worried about what our football plans are. Its the first time I thought things in Ruston are under control. Hope he stays.
In the end no outright conference championships and no shared conference championship since 1999?? We have been mediocre and now have 2. Sorry I want more from my coach than that. I don't think Hill is a terrible coach by any means but if I were a Fresno fan I would want a change.
I think Fresno is justified in firing Hill. Hill tended to have good offenses, but never could keep a good, consistent defense.
Did ya hear the assinine comment by a talking head....didn't catch which idiot it was: Craig James, probably. "Fresno needs to remember who they are." When it was stated Hill has had 13 winning seasons in the last 15 years. Like, well, they are just a lowly non-AQ and should be happy with whatever scraps the football world throws them.
Hill never won a WAC title. Not once. Fresno shoulda fired him.
When it became apparent that Fresno could no longer compete against Boise, their decline became inevitable. They were no longer able to get the top 2cnd tier talent they had at one time because Boise began making inroads. Add to the fact that they were always a second thought because they would win 1 or 2 "big" games and lose 2 conference games a year showed Hill's priorities were askew. As has been said, any team can beat any other team (generally) if that's the only game they plan for. Obviously, Pat Hill's plannings were to focus on the non-conference "name" team. I think it caught up with him.
One thing I admire about the jerk is the way he built up the San Joaquin Valley support and always sold lots of tickets.
His program couldn't keep up with the support he had built.
