SI.com Tabs Pachall And McCoy All-Americans
TCU quarterback ranks seventh nationally in passing efficiency
NEW YORK -- SI.com has named TCU quarterback
Casey Pachall and kickoff returner
Greg McCoy honorable-mention All-Americans.
Pachall is seventh nationally in passing efficiency (161.7). He is the highest ranked non-senior or junior. The sophomore from Brownwood, Texas, has completed 67.8 percent of his passes, on pace to break
Andy Dalton's TCU single-season record of 66.1 from last year.
Pachall has thrown for 2,715 yards with 24 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He needs 10 completions and 143 yards passing in the Dec. 21 Poinsettia Bowl to break Dalton's single-season TCU marks in both categories. Pachall is three touchdown passes shy of tying Dalton's record of 27 from last season.
Pachall was the Walter Camp National Player of the Week after throwing for 473 yards, second-most in TCU history, while tying a TCU record with five touchdown passes in a 36-35 win at No. 5 Boise State. His 2-point pass to
Josh Boyce with 1:05 to play provided the Horned Frogs with the go-ahead points in the game.
It's going to be a long night for the La Tech faithful!
