I wouldn't know, I don't listen to the radio much... However, being played on a particular station does not matter anymore anyway. Except for the most hardcore of DJs, everything is mixed to some extent. The Beastie Boys are a hip-hop/rap group.

Heck they were/are signed to DefJam Records. They were nominated for a Grammy for Best RAP Performance last year.unlikely hip-hop superstars
well, if the grammy voters put them in the rap genre...
It's not the only time it's happened. Granted, they have also been nominated in the pop category, but that too is becoming all encompassing.
