There is more to this story than the death of a shady investment broker. It's all about the how the SEC turned a blind eye toward these folks who lost their retirement monies. Their government failed to protect them.

That article fails to say what the fraud was. Sounds like he was just selling mortgage-backed securites to the general public.
As for the government failing to protect the people, I would go one step further and say the government CAUSED the harm to the American people.
