The end of an era has officially arrived at the University of Tennessee. Summitt will continue to serve as an advisor and "head coach emeritus" to the women's basketball team.

Rather sad. Great knowing we were always playing the best and beating the best plenty of times as well. I have great respect for Summitt and her program at Tennessee as she did for ours at TECH.
I'll always respect Summitt for what she's done for women's basketball and it's sad to watch her deal with this illness
Now....Warlick, at the last minute, will jump ship and head to Baylor!!! Causing recruiting issues, and forcing Summitt to come out of retirement. Nah...that could never happen.
Figured this announcement was coming when DeMoss jumped to the WNBA.
A day to celebrate a career that will never be equalled.
Always will remember her and the Lady Vols in the mid to late 80's coming into Ruston to play the Techsters. Some fierce games with Coach Barmore back in the day. The glory days of ladies basketball. Much respect to Coach Summit. Always a tough competitor, but she had so much respect for Coach Barmore and La. Tech. When I think of Coach Summit, I don't think about the wins/titles first, I think of class. She has it. Best of luck to her and the fight she has dealing with this terrible disease. She will be missed.
In a surprising turn of events, Warlick has decided not to accept the HC job at Tennessee. It seems the administration offered her a 4 year contract, but she firmly insisted on a 5 year contract.
