In the end, there can be only one.
In the end, there can be only one.
After experiencing IMAX in Bossier last night while watching the latest Mission Impossible . . . any new movie theatre that does not include at least one IMAX screen is no different than another hole in the outhouse.

On Reynolds drive? What a joke. This company has done zero research.

I'm all for options/amenities in Ruston..But I can't wrap my mind around it..Hopefull it does well but it seems like all we get here is redundancy..WE NEED A NICE SHOPPING DEVELOPMENT. Ruston is losing so many tax dollars to monroe and bossier/shreveport on retail alone..I mean does anyone have insight on future plans for a nice retail development..I see the growth but we have so much untapped potential for shopping..All we have is a lousy Burkes Outlet, Stage, Rue 21, and Wally World..I know we can do better than that.
Seems like an odd location to me but I have to imagine those folks have done their research or they wouldn't still be in business. It's not whether Ruston can support two theaters but whether the region can. Much of the traffic to Celebrity comes from Homer, Arcadia, Jonesboro, Farmerville, etc. My guess is that they got a good deal on that piece of property. Some of prime locations you might expect for such as enterprise want a small fortune--the lots behind Dowling's and Karl Malone's development come to mind.
As far as retail, you won't see much expansion until the economy turns around. Investors are not spending their money right now. Karl Malone has set up a great location for the type of retail development you want but there's been few takers. The vacant retail rental space in Ruston should tell you that people are not standing in line to open up businesses.
Albertson's lasted for how long? I don't see any type of high end repetitive business being very sucessful here. Seems like someone should have pushed them toward the never built bowling lanes development. Oh well, I guess we could always use a new branch of the library.
There is more to this that is not being said. Chances of this actually happening are very slim. NO money has changed hands.
