I caught six bass, two pound average, Friday. Also one big black crappie took the lizard. Guess he was real mad or real hungry.

I'm planning on fishing Sunday and Monday. I need a guy to show me the white perch haunts. You going to be out and around on Sunday afternoon?

I'm busy developing community relationships on most Fridays

Yep -
The Police Jury and Watershed District can breathe a sigh of relief - there will be no lynchings of members by disgruntled lake people this Memorial Day or 4th of July....
We are actually lucky the lake was down or the flooding would have been alot worse
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
When you say stripers, do you mean white bass or actual striped bass?
There's quite a difference
hybrids...
not barfish
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Every so often they stock hybrid fingerlings - about 3 year intervals...
The whiteperch crowd absolutely despises them for doing so -
The is some barfish in the Lake, I hear of folks catching them in Corney more than Claiborne
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I didn't know how bad the white perch guys despised the stripers until I fished in the "boat village" on Claiborne this winter. A school of stripers came through and tore everybody up and you should have heard the regulars cussing the stripers. I thought it was kinda fun fighting some stripers on 4 lb test!
“Towie Barclay of the Glen, Happy to the maids, But never to the men.”
Its a constant tug of war between the pro-striper crowd and the whiteperch guys trying to either get the Watershed to stock or convincing them not to stock the hybrids...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Down with the hybrids!
Ross, years ago, Claiborne had the true, big ole stripers. There are a lot of 30-pound-plus mounts hanging on walls of old timers around the lake.
By the way, the lake is now CLOSED to boat traffic.
No great loss right now. All fishing is severely messed up for at least a week (except for catfishing).
