Not a misprint. Southern didn't bring 20,000+ to Cajun Field this weekend. I watched some of it on ESPN360, and there was nobody there.

And congrats to the G-men for their W over Northwestern St.

It was also a monsoon in Lafayette for the game I doubt we would have cracked 10k with weather like we had last night.

The ticket sales we way down the entire week before. One article said they might get half of what they had at southern. The weather definately hurt, put they weren't pushing anything close to southern figures. I'm gonna go ahead and call bs on 29k for fiu.

I would say by looking at those pictures you validate there werent 40,000 there. I see ALOT of red seats! Good try! Further, that is only half of your stadium. Which means there were closer to the actual attendance of 20,000. Beautfiul pic though of the sky!

It was probably 60-40 in the Cajuns favor. Southern came out in force and our finicky fanbase waited until the last minute to try and buy tickets. The ticket office quit selling tickets 3 hours prior to game time. There were actually people scalping tickets which was an amazing sight to see. Had they not stopped the ticket sales there may have been close to 50K inside the stadium. there were literally thousands of Cajun fans who were turned away.

I'd imagine that Tech would draw close to the same number if they were to play Grambling in Ruston.

To be honest, I don't think we'd get quite so many rent-a-fans from Grambling for that game if it were in Ruston. I really think a lot of the Southern fans there came from the general black population in Lafayette that has a lot of very casual Southern fans. Ruston isn't nearly as big. Our big Grambling crowd would be in Shreveport, and it'd be enough to probably fill up Independence Stadium.

I just realized I said this while Grambling is like 2 miles down the road. I'd have to see what their usual home attendance is, and figure that in with our own. I just don't see the epic ridiculous overflow that the ULL-Southern game had.
