When raising funds like this, the perks are supposed to be covered by the donation. If the shirt is $10, a $1 won't cover that. Instead, the $10 shirt comes with a $15 or above donation. Something along those lines. That way, the donor gets a shirt, still gets to make a positive donation to the cause, and the BoP gets the money it needs.
The band is trying to raise $125,000. They will never ever get there if they give a a $10 t-shirt for a $15 donation, or ever a $50 donation.
