I was reading an article on Steve Spurrier's coaching future and the possible schools he may be coaching at in the next year or so......Now before you all tune me out....just imagine it for a moment.....A man like Spurrier left Florida because he had proven there was nothing left for him to prove at the college level so he left for the NFL. Now as we all know, the old fun & gun didn't quite go over too well in the NFL...but he still loves coaching.....AND.... he still has the drive to prove something to himself and to all those involved in football.. ..Now we all know that he's already rich, so money may not be the driving force for him anymore.....But to take a small Div IA school such a Tech from rural Northern Louisiana to national (possible BCS) contention would be one heck of a challenge.....YEA...YEA...YEA....when donkeys fly.....stupid pipe dream...right???
But just think about it for a minute...picture it in your minds eye what all could happen......just the act of signing Steve Spurrier as the next Tech coach would probably more than double our attendance alone just in the first year.....then throw in the recruiting talent and news/TV exposure and marketing that would result.......It would be unbelieveable!!!!
Now don't forget the next generation of top assistant coaches would be lined up outside Tech's door just for the opportunity to work with Spurrier and work for nearly league minimum....Tech plays a season or two under the new coach and by the 3rd year...just watch all that money roll in and by that time we will be able to afford to keep all the coaches and TA-DA....the SEC is kicking Vandy out of the conferance and Tech takes their place.
