Leach will do very well in the ACC. However, it does make UMD look bad in firing the ACC Coach of the Year. Won 8 games and took them to a bowl.
Maryland doesnt care about looking bad, they are worried about the continuing conference shake-ups and about winning bigger than 8 games. I don't agree with the decision, but I do understand what they are doing.
How the heck is Locksley a candidate anywhere?
How is Tyrone Willingham a candidate anywhere?
I could see Willingham at a non-AQ school or perhaps a low end AQ, but not anything better at this time. The only thing that I can say about Locksley is that he has prior connections to the school. They obviously mean something.
All a moot point though. Leach will be offered (providing the UMD President does not veto it) and he will accept. Hope he does not try to pull in assistants from his past.
