Thanks, I got it now. This is a quote from part of the RFP:
"Proposer should describe how he will develop project phasing allowing flexibility in fund raising and construction. Description should include how designer fee schedule will be applied to a phased project. For discussion purposes, assume funding for phases of $10,000,000, $2,500,000, $2,500,000 and $2,500,000. "

I read that as saying that they plan on building the first phase as soon as plans are ready.

won't happen. construction documents will take most of this year to complete.

I could see September or October as a good time for the plans to be finished. It all depends on the review process and how long it takes to decide who is awarded the job. I could see us breaking ground sometime around the end of football season if everything falls into place.

agreed. there is still a lot of design work that still needs to be done. the end of football season will be what the architect and administration will be shooting for.

i think thats because they already know who they want to do it, just putting out the rfp as a formality.

That's just to select the engineering/design firm, remember they got approval in late November or early December to proceed to this step...

60 days is the norm -

IF we are smart we hold "numerous" ceremonies and public events leading up to this -

one after we select the engineering/design firm
one when we get final plans back and go to bid
one when we FORMALLY break ground
one when we open the building

First it gets your name in the news, second it gets your people excited and third it keeps your people in the loop and they feel appreciated -
