I think the big difference this time is that he is actually talking to them. In the past he has not even interviewed for other jobs as far as I know. I think he takes it.

Agreed! Not only changing conferences, but Boise is losing 19 seniors as well. They will definitely not be as good next year. Plus, he is not going to a program at the bottom, Stanford will contend for the Pac 12 title next year.

Peterson would be foolish not to seriously consider leaving Boise State Truck Driving Academy for Stanford. His teams have been very QB driven and he's getting the chance to coach the 2012 or 2013 NFL draft top pick. Also Stanford will probably be ranked in the Top 3 starting next year so his chances to win a BCS championship are greater at Stanford. Coaches are just like schools, always wanting to move up to bigger and better things.

2000 BSU grad and spent the past 10 years as an assistant, the last five as OC. Yeah, I think he might get some consideration.
