Or someone gets on the elevator to go up one floor rather than take the stairs.
how does that affect you?
see above.
today i was in a building i've never been in before, and apparently only one of the 4 elevators were functional. i would have loved to take the stairs, but i couldn't find any way to access stairs from the ground floor lobby.
I'm not offended. It just bugs me how impatient people are. I really do think sometimes that people believe the more times they push the button, they feel they are accelerating the elevator towards them.
As far as taking the elevator up/down 1-floor:
My complaint comes from the hospital where I work. These people are employees. They definitely know their way around and where the stairwells are. (about 15ft. away from the elevators) Yet, they wait +5 mins. sometimes for an elevator, just to take it down one floor.
It's just extreme laziness and it drives me crazy.
I hate it when we hire someone new at my company in Russia or Brazil --or somewhere equally as far away-- and my inbox gets filled up with "Reply All" e-mail responses from dumba$$ employees saying "welcome aboard Mikhail", etc.... As if the rest of us need to see every single response to Mikhail.

mp3 player that has a "random" setting, but only plays a few dozen of the hundreds of songs on the device when in that mode. mine doesn't seem to like led zeppelin or david crowder, but it really loves the white stripes and nora jones. it tries to play "walking blues" at least twice a day (either by robert johnson or eric clapton).
