That would take care of the OSU and OU issue.
SEC becomes first Super Conference adding A&M, Florida State, OU, and OSU.
That is 4 spots up for grabs that those conferences will have to fill. I know no one on here will take this serious, but if all the bcs conferences have to grab teams to stay at the current number, it may not be that non-aq is left in another division. It may be that every bcs team is in a bcs conference eventually - being part of those super conferences. That will happen if all aq conferences try to stay alive through all of this. There will be very few non-aq teams not a part of it. First a raid on CUSA and MWC - then the WAC, MAC, and belt......... There might be just a handful of teams left in those 5 conferences and they will form a conference of the left-overs. The bcs would be happy and most of us will be happy. If the MWC goes aq, then the raids will be even more on the other non-aq conferences to get to 16. Of course, money talks, so better have something to offer so a super conference picks you up for the TV contract.
If FSU leaves that could help us as UCF or ECU could take their spot. This whole deal could really hurt us but IMO it is more likely to really help us as we could see the entire Eastern half of CUSA shatter and possibly one or two Western CUSA teams leave as well. It could leave us in a CUSA that isn't as good as it is now BUT is much more regional than it is now and still better than the 2012 version of the WAC. It will be interesting. You have got to expect the Pac10/Big10 to react to the SEC going to 14 or 16 and the Big East is teetering as it is.
.....Fun times to be a College Football Fan!

If they all react and try to get to 16, there won't be many non-aq conferences left - if any. I don't have time right now, but it would be cool to fill in each AQ conference to 16, by picking from the non-aq's - because the aq conferences that are getting pulled from now will have to pull from somewhere else to remain viable.
But since it would be tough for things to get much worse for us conference-wise, I'm for any and all conference shuffling until we're in a better situation.
It is still possible that things get worse for us (like a bunch more shuffling that leaves us untouched in the current WAC but with USU gone to the MWC and not even an opening in the SB to fall back on), but since almost anything else leaves us in the same spot at worst, I want to see chaos reign for a while.

That creates some serious divisional problems. And divisions become very, very important in a 16-team league since almost all of conference play is inside the division. If they're serious about OU and OSU, Missouri is the most logical 4th.
This, if it's true about FSU, indicates to me that they are not serious about OSU (and perhaps, by extension, OU).

A&M BOR bumps meeting to Monday instead of the 22nd

The ACC already has four colleges in North Carolina. I can't imagine a 5th. UCF would be possible, if they can't get any better schools from the Big East (which is unlikely, but not impossible). If they swipe a school from the BE, though, it's not hard to imagine the BE taking from the ranks of C*USA.

Texas legislature calls meeting amid talk of Texas A&M joining SEC

Its a committee and the legislature doesn't meet for another 18 months

A&M is announces they are leaving the bevo 10 for the SEC on Monday

I have a new respect for A&M. They just screwed the Texas Legislative Committee that was probably going to stop them from going. Posting the open meetings act 2 days in advance - taking advantage of the 5 days needed for the Committee. Gotta Love It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT is how it is done!

From the San Antonio Express this afternoon, but before the Regents meeting was moved to Monday. Sounds like Beebe's had enough of aTm:

One would have to think this weekend will see a lot of phone calls around the country as the pre-announcement positioning gets serious. A&M better leave or lots of people are going to be bent.
