I wonder if Garrard was lazy over the summer and got out of shape. He didnt play that poorly last year. I know he was inconsistent, and I love the fact that Luke is getting a shot, but there has to be more to Garrard's story.

Del Rio has no slack in his line to just start Luke without the thought that he is the best option.

It goes to show the general level of unsatisfaction the Tech fanbase ALWAYS has with quarterbacks (and offensive coordinators). I remember more than several 'bench Luke and start Maxie' posts on here and chants in the stadium.

Very happy for Luke, wish him all the best. However, this looks to me like a franchise trying to move on to the next head coach and QB. Luke costs less than Garrard and they not paying Gabbert all that cheese to watch. Del Rio's days are numbered in Jack-Town and management's influence on the roster is heavy. That being said, I hope Luke takes the Jags to the Superbowl and Scobee hits the game winner with no time left!!!

Luke signed a significant contract when he came to Jacksonville--definitely not chump change. I think they saw him as the future (at least near future) when they brought him in.
