The difference is that even if Creer gets stuffed for no gain, you are still in position to kick a FG and win the game. The interception in the end zone took that option away and we lost in OT. Against Houston, a first down didn't guarantee anything because we still had 25 yards to go to get into FG range.

It wasn't OT. And he didn't HAVE to throw a fade route into double/triple coverage. That was one of several options. 2 of his at least 3 options were open and would have likely resulted in a first down possibly much more. The QB CHOSE to throw into the end-zone and then underthrew his target. A dump off to the same SEC running back would have likely resulted in a first down or at least resulted in a FG attempt.

remember too, that he hit is target for a touchdown earlier in the game on the same route.

To an extent I agree. If it works it was a great play by Isham. If it doesn't it was a stupid call by SD/TF.

The only caveat to this is we are talking about a 17 year old and that has to be taken into consideration. We shouldn't be giving him these passes next year. And I still think he gives us our best chance to win these games.

    Well

Well i guess our BEST CHANCE so far is 1 and 4. I disagree i think they should have redshirted Isham (he is 17 ..could have actually grown a couple of inches and been able to see over the line before he started a game) but then again thats why he CHOSE tech in his orange county newspaper interview is because he would get to play at LA TECH THIS yr and a redshirt was an option he didnt want. Dont get me wrong i think he will be a good qb I just think he should have gotten a redshirt and we would have him the next 4 yrs.

According to the espn anouncers his only other 1-A offer was from NMSU. Not a lot of options there, this also shows that he is not ready to start as a true freshman. Does he really want to enter into his senior season at 20? I don't get why people think this guy is going to be any good? He has done absolutely nothing. With any QB on this roster or from our ingramental football fields we would still be 1-4.

Just because he is from the west coast, undersized, and lightly recruited does not mean he is the next Tim Rattay. I think that is what they are putting in the kool-aid. Finding hidden gems like Tim Rattay does not happen very often. Their styles are very different, Tim has a much stronger arm and is about his pinpoint accuracy and quick release. Nick holds the ball too long and sometime runs.

He's 17th in completions per game. He's 83rd in passing efficiency.

It looks like "passing" means "completions"... if you look at all the categories and try to make sense of it. The only thing that makes sense is completions per game, because that category in "passing" is listed in descending order and none of the others are.

For example: The guy right below Nick has more yards, more TD's, and less INTs. So how is Nick better than him... if not just in completions?
