While I agree we don't know much, we all know that all of these moves are driven by money, networks & AQ status. While I myself am skeptical about what our admin is doing or not doing, I take solice in the fact that LA Tech is a known brand and better regarded outside of our media market (national level) than inside (Louisiana). We will be receiving an invite from one of four conferences shortly & I am not talking about the belch.

NTSU- 13K for their first game in a brand new stadium?

FIU- Hot talk because of the FLA market, have over 40K students & are winning the belch with a former MS St. QB that helped us beat them. No bigdeal here.


ULL- already bowl eligible (who have they played)? Who cares?

This is my first post on your board, which I enjoy reading. I'm a Cajuns fan that likes to see what else is going on out there. To my point, I've lived outside of Louisiana for a decade now, in several states across the country, and I can say that my experience is that no one is talking about Tech outside of LA, just like no on is talking about the Cajuns. At the level that we currently both occupy, it's all about what you are currently doing...that's it. The Cajuns are having a great year so far, and if they go back to an average season next year, no one will care. Same for Tech. For the bottom feeders, you've got to sustain improvement for a while...which neither Tech nor the Cajuns have done to date. That seems to be changing now for Lafayette with the addition of Hud and Marlin...hopefully that is the same with you guys. At the end of the day, it's best for the state and our fans if we are both good programs...

I tried hard to stick with "the Cajuns" for you guys. I'm not that big on the name thing, but guess it slipped. I see you changed it to "Lafayette." Nice. Hey man, we're all fans, and I love to hate on Tech all day long, so I can take a little ribbing too...

I'm just happy to be 6 - 1 right now with a good coach that has inspired the fan base. Basketball under Marlin has done the same. Can we get SOMETHING going between Tech and the Cajuns? I know most of you aren't into it, but the games, crowds, and cash could be fantastic!

...yet you choose to discuss it. Since ESPN began getting complaints early in the year I've only seen LaLaff on the screen. Is that one acceptable to you?

Not true. My above posts show UNT to not even have much market presence as well. All I have been saying is that UNT will not fill the void for CUSA of either market share or market presence if they would do some real research.

Your definition of market presence is different from the one used by the networks, the advertisers, and CUSA. They are in the DFW market. Don't argue with me. Argue with the folks who do the DMA studies.

I don't think CUSA could or would expect them to fully fill the void; just partially.

I hope that doesn't become real obvious in the very near future. But your statement is probably a better way of verbalizing this issue.
