Some band members were there God bless 'em! We sure needed more folks there though, there may have been 20 folks there.
That's just sad. Our local Ruston fans deserve a swift kick in the ass for that.

"Ruston" as a whole wants them to win, but they have never, and will never, get out to support them. Sure is a shame the students didn't show; it would have been easy for them.

So you were expecting a bunch of middle agers with kids to go out at 1 am in the morning? Something like that is the last step in becoming a big time program. Stuff like this is what students do.
Yep. It's even something you could have done with the kids. They would have loved it. It could have been one of those things they remembered for the rest of their lives. What's wrong with that?

At 1 in the morning? Meeting the team at 1 is a student thing. I just find it funny that the out of towners talk like this but WILL NEVER HAVE TO BACK IT UP. It's easy to say what we would do, but until its 12 am, you are in Ruston, and go, you can't really talk.
ok, I will admit it. I am in Choudrant and didn't go. I guess that cancels out the 3 Mississippi games that I went to and the fact that I haven' missed a home game in 20 years. Man I suck.
Exactly. When we can have a large crowd meet the bus at 1am, it will be after we sell out an entire season of games.
Well, I'm not gonna say anybody "sucks" for not going, but you're right HD...it IS something kids never forget. I recall the National Championship team flying into Monroe back in the early 70's, and a certain 9 year old boy was with his Dad at the gate to cheer on the team. That kid shook hands with Mike Barber and Quick-6 McDaniel.
I remember it well.
Sorry I'm not here to judge those who regularly attend Tech games both home and away. However I will say that it seems that many of the local Ruston fans support Tech when it is convenient for them (i.e. no RHS football game, not deer season, game time that suits them). :bigcry:

We are finally having our second winning season in 10 years. (slight exaggeration)
It will take more than that to wake folks up.
Y'all don't over expect on the attendance thing Saturday either.
