Disagree -
It's a Holiday weekend - start the Labor Day weekend two days earlier...
We are coming off of a 8-5 season with a close loss to TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl - A&M has a new coach
If we get the same crowd that we did for Miami in 03(?) plus 10K A&M fans then its a crowd of 50K+
If it is replacing the Lamar game (which we would be lucky to get a TRUE 18K through the gates for) then it really is a no-brainer IF DR insists on having this game
A&M is one of the FEW games I think "works" in Shreveport, them and Arkansas

I was fibbed to by the LTAC guy that called me at the end of last week when he told me that the aTm game would not effect any of our home games and that we are assured of 6 home games in Ruston and that we may add the "7th" with A&M in S'port.
I am personally not against playing this game, if it was a 7th "home game" or if it was in Ruston, but to yet again only schedule 5 home games in Ruston is not progress!!!! Especially when it is against a SEC team which is supposed to be top 25 @ the beginning of the year. I just don't like DR & his minion - BVDV pimping us out! Also who does this take off the schedule for 2013 for our return game to CS????

Our own fans need to stop thinking of Shreveport as an away game. It is off campus, but if you lived in any large city, it would take you just as long to get there or close to it, unless you lived on campus. When I was at Tech, I was in Shreveport just about every single weekend and plenty of others were too.
I agree with Dwayne that it doesn't make sense to play some teams there, but it does for A&M. If this is officially announced, let's just get on with it and beat dem Aggies........
I want this to be very clear - the reason WHY we are scheduling this game and WHO is insistent that this game be scheduled is the reason that I feel we will NEVER get into CUSA....
I see the reasoning behind the game, but I also KNOW the REASON behind the game -

If we play A&M where ever we play them instead of Lamar, we are giving up a sure win for a possible win. We are reducing our chances for an undefeated season and playing a third money game. I thought we were going to limit ourselves to one of those games per year.
I probably won't be able to go if that is the case. I will try to make it work, but I may be watching that one on TV. Weekday games don't work out for me so well.
If it has to be Thursday night, Shreveport is probably a better option than Ruston. We would have a built in excuse as to why attendance was poor. We just need to make sure that the TV money makes it worth while.
We will absolutely not play more than 3 of those games per year.
FAIL.
The game hasn't been scheduled. If it is I think it has been approved by SD. I think that DR and BVDV will listen to SD. There has been no news reported, just good old fashioned world is crashing folks.
This...Until I hear something official, I will keep my opinion on the subject to myself.
SD has expressed his desires to the AD -
He wants the schedule to remain unchanged...
But SD nor BVDV are not the ones making the call on this (for the uptenth time)...

Listen to all the venom that DFM is spewing at you. I've heard every bit of it today as well, minus his opinion on the reason, and I'm assuming we have different spies on the inside...:icon_wink:
