Thursday in Shreveport...will hurt the people that have to Work on Friday and live more that one hour away.....
Here is one thing I learned from my ULL followers...
Casual FANS don't care about the opponent.
Casual FANS care about the record...
If we are pushing a possible 9-3, 10-2, 11-1, 12-0 season...It doesn't MATTER who we beat on the field. At the end of the day bandwaggoners don't care. ULL was rolling off wins against creampuffs and the folks in Lafayette thought they were the second coming of the Saints.
Boise St proves it works. They won beating Oregon States first, then recruiting, then you play Georgias...
THIS!!!!
Still trying to master my I Phone so forgive me. I do not want to play tamu in Shreveport! Either play them in Ruston or don't play them, I hate having to play there, its a horrible venue for a college game but that's just me.
I don't know about their financials.
I do know this decision kills the hope we had for a BC$ bowl and the million$ that would come with it.
I think DR's decision makes a BC$ bowl about 3x less likely.
By my own calculations:
Likelihood that we beat Virginia, Illinois, and Lamar: 29.1%
Likelihood that we beat Virginia, Illinois, and Texas A&M: 11.6%

You sure did...I thought it would be condescending to ask for your formula, so I didn't.
The doom and gloom seems premature to me. With our poor season ticket numbers, we have to take pay-day games. This fell in our lap and we'll clear a million to play an SEC team in Shreveport. 10 years ago, we would've taken the OU game with no return.

Based off your numbers we have a 3-10 shot at beating those guys with Lamar or a 1-10 shot if it's aTm. In other words, "NOT VERY LIKELY EITHER WAY!"
What's the likelihood we beat just Virginia & Illinois?
Lamar is a 50 point dog in your formula, if you want to add them add in EVERYONE on both schedules and see the difference.
Your BcS dream is just that. A Dream! But IMO, if we beat aTm we are much more likely to beat the other two. So playing aTm actually HELPS our BcS dreams!
If there is ever a time to roll the dice against a legit BCS foe, it's next season. I have no problem with playing A&M in a home game. Bottom line--some people on here expect us to LOSE the game. I don't.
