Look my wife and I use Sexton for both of our dogs and we love going there. He has always taken the best care of our dogs and I have found no one else in town as good as he is. I cant blame the vet (who was on vacation) for something some staff member did. Was this staff member stupid for covering it up ... Yes, should there be charges brought to him ... possibly. But until we have the whole story about what happened we cant do anything. I hate that something like this has happened as much as anyone and would love to see some improvements done for the next great tech mascot. I will also continue to go to sexton and would allow him to take care of the next tech bulldog because I would rather a trained vet keep him in case anything were to happen again.

That is stupid. I never give someone showing characteristics of dishonesty or lack of integrity a benefit of a doubt. Negligence is one thing and forgivable in my book - some people are not as sharp or prudent as others. But when faced with a tough situation, it is a MAJOR and UNFORGIVABLE character flaw to not own up to what you did. I have no respect for people like that. If what is being reported is what happened, the person that failed to report this is scum.
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
I know its a long shot. But I think it would be well worth the effort. If not a "permanent" Tech XXI, could we find a stand in? Just like Georgia does when they are trying to find a pure white Bulldog? At least until we have secured a puppy?

I appreciate the Sextons for coming forth with the truth, as absolutely devastating as it is. They could have easily kept it quiet and let TECH XX's legacy be that he had been picked up/stolen. I feel like I've been punched in the stomach, and I wasn't the one who raised him from a puppy...I'm sure they're absolutely torn up over this.

First of all, I mourn the loss of this animal. A pet perishing as a result of negligence is sad enough. Second, I mourn the loss of our mascot. I have memories of Tech XX when he was a pup my freshman year. We grew up along one another in spirit.
This is where the next decision should be made. Who is the end-all be-all authority on housing, feeding, and grooming the live Louisiana Tech bulldog? Obviously only licensed veterinarians can provide medical care, but should they also be entrusted with the care of our mascot?
In my opinion, the daily responsibilities and honors of caring for the bulldog should be given to someone with a high level of pride, respect, and enthusiasm intrinsic to a Louisiana Tech student, faculty, or alum.
I don't think a $2.50 (or even $1.899 in honor of the year of the first bulldog) student fee would be asking too much to provide a small scholarship and the necessary supplies and/or facilities to give our mascot the quality and quantity of life befitting the mascot of Louisiana Tech University.

I am an Architecture student at Tech, and we are always looking for community projects to get involved with. I am 99.999% sure that with proper funding we could build him a kick@$$ habitat!! I'm going to get in touch with some higher-ups in my department and see what we could do!
