Actually, one was originally planned to go in by Starbucks, but no more. Not one of the two I mentioned, but was considered by a local business man whom i wont mention not too long ago in a partnership with a former El Chico employee...being Cantina Laredo is an El Chico brand I believe.

If you're talking about the restaurant in the old shopping center where the original movie theaters were, then you're talking sacrilege my good man. Us old-timers loved us some El Polinos back in the day!

Yep that's the one .... I agree it was pretty good, but having grown up with a dad who couldn't pass up a Mexican food dive in some southwestern states, you really could stumble on some gems out there.

I don't think the Mexican places have done anything more than look at this point. But, people would drive from Monroe to eat at them if either came to Ruston.
