I seriously doubt Aramark mgt. reads this board.

Enough complaints here http://www.aramark.com/ContactUs.aspx , and somebody might eventually take notice ??

The complaints should not be required to come from us. This is TECHs responsibility to fix!

Not having ice at the beginning of a game is ridiculous. I will be toting a bag in at the next game and I dare them to say something about it. Its bad enough that I have to mix with Pepsi products... but no ice? Thats downright communism .

In all due respect, why should Louisiana Tech alumni complain to Aramark about a Louisiana Tech issue? They are a contract employee of the university, nothing more. Aramark will not do a damn thing unless the guys in charge tell them there is an issue. If Bruce and his team do not envision an issue because we send all the complaints to Aramark, then what hammer do they have when things don't change?

In economic terms, Aramark sold everything they brought so someone at Aramark feels they did a great job and probably reported that back to Bruce! If we send in a bunch of complaints, then suddenly they are put in a position to go back and tell him they didn't do so well! That is akin to the teachers unions saying that they are doing a great job of teaching the kids, but the kids don't want to learn! Aramark brought all the stuff they needed and sold it all, it is our fault we wanted more of the same stuff!

Unless the people at Tech tell them they didn't, I doubt we can influence them by filling out a pre-made complaint form to Philadelphia.

Let Bruce do the complaining after he hears it from us! That should be much more effective and hopefully finally get this ridiculous issue repaired! How many years has this been happening? If we want to be Big Time, why do we keep doing Small Time Crap?

    Re: Concessions

This afternoon I emailed Bruce, Dr. King and Robert Lubbert, the Aramark contact from last year's discussion. Bruce has already responded and is meeting with Aramark and Dr. King's office this week.

Here is what I said in my email:

Gentlemen: My wife [ . . .] attended the LA TECH v RICE home football game this past Saturday - I think it was her first appearance at a TECH game with me for the first time in over 5 years.

While she was favorably impressed with the tailgating experience (which she thought compared favorably with the Texas A&M, Univ of Texas and LSU experiences she has recently experienced), she was thoroughly disappointed with the situation with the concession service in the stadium. Her statement was that things had actually gone backwards from the last time she had attended a TECH home football game - long lines/long wait, running out of product in the first quarter, hot "cold" drinks and water, inability to make change for a $20.00, etc. Rather than reiterate the summary opinions I forwarded to each of you last year, I have reviewed my correspondence with you about this situation and am electing to forward that correspondence back to you (all of my comments from last year are pretty much applicable again this year).

For what it is worth, during the second half of Saturday's game, my wife noted to me that we spend quite a bit of money for LTAC membership and TECH season ticket purchases so that we can invite our business associates/clients to enjoy an collegiate football experience with us. She was so disappointed in the in-stadium experience that she suggested that next year we not spend our client entertainment budget on TECH football - instead look for other entertainment opportunities that she will not be embarrassed to attend with clients (as she was this past Saturday). Quite frankly she is not coming back to a Tech football game until Homecoming, and then only because [ ... a family member is being given special recognition as part of the HC festivities ... ] .

    Sincerely,

    STF

Exactly. The fans have no leverage in this situation. Aramark will LISTEN to BVD and other LA Tech officials long before they'll ever listen to Tech's fans. That's what I kept telling Gatordawg. Asking fans to write into Aramark is just silly talk.

Great letter. Bruce got one from me concerning my Mother's bad experience with concessions so he should have some ammo for his guns when he has his meeting!

I would suggest any one who also has issues to take 5 minutes and do what STF and I have done. They don't know they need to fix things unless we tell them it's broke!

Makes you wonder how they could be so blind. Step out to the consession stands....see what is going on...or not going on! VERY SIMPLE!!!

Need some of that Trace Adkins' Sausage that was served at the Argent Pavilion at the concession stands. That was some good stuff! Went to Brookshire's today and bought more.

I don't think people would mind not having a variety, they just want to at least have the basics of drinks that are cold and something to munch on. Not everyone tailgates, and 6 o'clock is meal time, so there should be something to eat there. That is the expectation, and there are very few venues that is not the case. My oldest is in middle school and they are able to have cokes, cups, ice, etc. I have been to high school events and they are able to as well. Why is it that in college, where people pay to come for the game and the atmosphere, TECH is unable to have change, have ice, etc.?
Good post and since the vast majority of universities in the country call pull off good consession operations then maybe we can too?

Please NEVER host a big game in Ruston. I'll trade easy parking for an operating concession stand.

Those goof balls in S'port sure can't run a concession stand. Where were you thinking? The WM band parents do a heck of a job

GREAT Idea!!!! You make it a centerpiece of your offering and you 1) sell something unique and good that your visiting fans can go back to their schools and brag on getting while they were here and 2) you really help the local economy by selling something made just down the street! It ties the concessions back to a famous alumni!

How about also having Dowling come up with a Kix Brooks BarBQ sandwhich and the Dawg house make a TB Burger, etc........

You can't be serious right? What other sports venue in the last 10 years have you visited that only served popcorn/peanuts/water/soda? WOYSA fields and Biedenharn fields for youth sports in West Monroe serve more diverse fare. It is inexcusable for an FBS football program to serve the equivalent of bread and water to fans that are in their stadium for five hours (5:30pm-10:30pm) with their families. How hard is that to understand?
