My wife jumped at this program. She thought it would be interesting to participate in the evaluation of the request for funding. It will be a good way to learn more about the needs at Tech.
I am for anything that gets her more involved and knowledgeable about Tech and thus more supportive. She has been what I would call a passive supporter, so I am looking forward to her being more active to see if she can keep up with me.
Not to sound sexist, but my understanding is that studies show women tend to want more involvement in the philanthropic process than guys (I apparently am an exception since I like involvement too). This group, if successful, will grow Tech's donor base by using a process that appeals to a large percentage of the alumni base.
