So basically your sayin that if BVDV apologizes then all is good again in Ruston?? If JFord apologizes then all is good with his BS BTBscam. If JFord apologizes to Bruce then all is forgotten with the players and students at our University???

That asking for forgiveness is not gonna change what happened tonight or how we are gonna feel about the people and "paid for" websites that turned backs on Tech.

    What more do you want?
Absolutely. Look, everyone is hurt from what happened on Sunday. Most of us--rightly or wrongly--were wanting to blame someone or something for the bowl snub, whether it was the AD, the bowl committee... heck, I even read some people blaming the team for losing the last two games.

I think we all privately said or thought some things last night that we'd all be embarrassed about if they'd been put on the Internet; I know I did. In JFord's case, he retweeted/posted other people's thoughts who were in the same mental state as most of us--probably things that shouldn't have been put out for public consumption--and also put something out he learned not to be true, after which he removed it and apologized directly to the person about whom he'd released misinformation. Many of us on here know Jonathan and know that he has nothing but the best intentions when it comes to Tech. There's no need to trash his website or him personally for a mistake that most any of us could have made; I think we're all upset about what happened, but channeling our frustrations into attacks against other board members--especially those that truly love this university--is something we should be above.

The local team who contributes to the city and bowl every year. Ask Boise and Hawaii and every other team that has a local bowl. You work together, not give unreasonable deadlines.

    Aub --

There are about half a dozen families in Lincoln Parish who call all the shots at Tech and in Ruston. Most of these elites attend the same church.

The only difference is that JFord likes to fashion himself as a journalist. A journalist can't do what JFord did and expect to sweep it under the rug with an apology.

A journalist who did such sloppy work and caused such injury would resign.

JFord didn't cause nearly as much injury as others higher up on both sides of this debacle.

Y'all are angry. JFord messed up and apologized. Forgive him. Move on.

There are bigger fish to fry.

He could be hiding, but instead he came on here knowing he was going to be crucified and took it like a man.

I believe that's all Ford is saying.
If you go back and read the tweets, that's NOT all he said on twitter. We did not "decline," but that is the language he used. There were other posts I took issue with, too.

The bottom line is that he presented a very biased view of the story, a view that put the university in the worst possible light, and made no attempt to present the nuances of the situation. I don't need to pay to listen to somebody bash the Tech administration. I can do that for free at a DfM tailgate (and get free food to boot).

JFord, you need to write another article on what REALLY happened and start tweeting about it. Good pub after we have been drug through the mud, would be a lot of help.
