    Coaching tenures

Anyone know length of tenure for coaches over past 15 years? It would be interesting to see. Everyone talks about coaches leaving and hurting recruiting etc.... On the other hand, how many universities have coaches that have been around for more than 5 years? Bama, LSU, Texas, Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., TCU, Boise.........who else? I bet the list is short.

Point is..... .this is part of college football now. Very few coaches can tell a recruit they will be around for 4 years.

I had this discussion with a fellow Tech fan today. It's a no lose situation for the coaches...

    5 year contract

Do well in year 1,2, or 3 and the contract is renegotiated and/our extended. Some make it to year 4.

Otherwise they still get paid for 5 years.

Trying to get this back on page 1. Go to link above. Very few coaches are anywhere for long. Very few schools have coaches that have been around more than 3 or 4 years.

Somebody posted on another thread that only about 15% of FBS HC are still in the same job they were in 2006. There are very few destination schools around.
