Peacock has an undergraduate degree from SMU and an MBA from LSU.

Peacock is one of the three SBC senators responsible for derailing the LaTech-LSUS merger.

Yes! I got the most negative response from him out of all of the local politicians. After his response, I felt the need to remind this asshole that I was a voter & helped to decide whether or not he kept his job. He is a D-Bag.

Two 6-6's from power conferences is never going to get the job done. There is intrigue in matching a 9-3 CUSA team vs a 6-6 Tennessee or Miss St. This would be the best scenario for the Indy Bowl...but they are either too proud or too stupid to forge this route. This will be their ultimate demise. They want LSPoo vs Notre Dame every year.
Not saying butts in seats isn't important. It is very important. But it isn't as easy as to accomplish as you think. There are a ton of factors in play that may not have butts in seats as the top priority.

Let's just say this about attendance. If SMU and Cincy drew actual 30-40k per game they would be in the big12 or ACC. It makes a tremendous difference IMHO.
Bowl games are no different, a those fans are visiting and thus investing heavily into the area! That's the payoff for the community who has to deal with the crappy traffic and disruption.

    This is likely the problem.

And I mean that on many levels.

Ticket guarantees are another issue that are much more complicated than fans realize.

Tech and lsu have been the best selling shows in the Indy Bowl over the years. lsu won't be going back and the Indy Bowl doesn't want the other team that has bailed them out two different times. It will take sombody besides BVDV to work with BB and the Indy Bowl for a C-USA option.

Maybe so, but there is a relatively simple solution to that complicated problem.

If ADs didn't like their kick-back cruises so much, they'd realize that collectively they could have the leverage to swing the balance back in the direction of the schools (or even the fans).

I can see why it's nice to know ahead of time roughly what you're going to make on an event as far as setting your budget and helping the children and all, I just don't see why schools agree to let bowls dictate this when all the bowls really offer is a building and an event that each individual school is able to pull off on their own 5-8 times per year.

The bill aimed at a hotel tax to help the @AdvoCareV100Bwl and Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission has been pulled due to a lack of support
Attempt will be made to amend and resubmit the bill. @AdvoCareV100Bwl
The hope is to amend and resubmit the hotel tax bill for next week.

More bad news for the AdvoCare V100 Bowl.

I suspect the ACV100 Bowl will soon celebrate the 8th SEC selection after the College Football Playoff.

There is no limit to the number of teams per conference that can be selected for the CFB Playoff. I guess there is a theoretical limit. The SEC could theoretically get 7 teams in the CFB Playoff.

I would expect about 3-4 SEC teams to get selected for the CFB Playoff every year. That would bump the ACV100 Bowl down to around the 11th-12th selection of SEC teams. And that's being optimistic. Good luck to them actually landing an SEC team.

I thought the playoff was 4 teams. You think that the SEC will get 3-4 for teams every year?
