Why should they anymore
Considering what her teams have looked like, do we really need any more bad publicity?
Did she coach/play for us? Pardon my ignorance.
I agree..neither has done much lately
She's one of Leon's BIG 12 proteges - Mulkey, Budke, Blair, Curry.
She was a great coach and a powerful recruiter - landing Betty Lennox and Trina Frierson to name a few. She made a name for herself at Tech and landed the Purdue and Texas Tech job because of her time at Tech -- nothing else. It's another example of how far we have fallen when there's zero importance that someone made their name as a Techster assistant under Barmore.
And no coach has a chance at Texas Tech in ANY SPORT - so you can't blame her for leaving.
Catrina Frierson's signing did coincide with the hire of Chris Long. Betty Lennox wrapped up her eligibility in Spring of 2000. Budke became an assistant in the fall of 2000.
Y'all are right. Kristy Curry had nothing to do with recruiting either of them. In fact, she never recruit anyone... ever.
Barmore connection: Curry worked as an assistant coach for Barmore from 1996-99. She received the head coach position at Purdue the following season.
Barmore's take: "Kristy is an outstanding recruiter because she is just so good with kids and knows how to relate to them. She may be the hardest working assistant coach I ever had."
____
While at Purdue:
Curry and her staff pounded the pavement throughout that season to sign what would be recognized as the best recruiting class in the nation, highlighted by a pair of Texas high school All-Americans in Erika Valek and Shereka Wright.
_____
At Texas Tech:
With her enthusiasm, determination, dedication and work ethic, Curry has continued the success she has become accustomed to throughout her years of coaching and in just her first year at Texas Tech, Curry signed a top 10 recruiting class in the nation.
_____
Curry and Budke’s relationship dated back to the mid ’90s, when Curry, then an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech, was recruiting Betty Lennox, a player on Budke’s team at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. Budke, 50, joined Louisiana Tech as an assistant the year after Curry left for the head coaching job at Purdue, and their families remained close.
Not even the point of my post but y'all know how to moan and complain and lazily point out facts that have no merit...
You have a great mind for details, can you give me the details in ner leaving Purdue? Think hard, may have had something to do with a AAU team "Family" and hiring the daughter of that organization to secure top recruits then something about academic issues with an assistant coach doing athletes work? But being lazy what does any of us know please help us more with your fountain of knowledge
Here's the MeTooU take:

Louisiana Tech University
Flagship of the University of Louisiana System
And there you have it... the deathstar announcing a "former ULM grad" named head coach at Alabama. Yea, cause her degree there is how she earned her head coaching experience...
Pathetic.
